Application opening offscreen windows xp

Worked like a charm. Thank you so much for the helpful post. Your cursor is on the program. I am getting this problem but with a game called Rust. Have you found any fix? Would be much appreciated! Highly appreciate about this article. You just saved my day. Hey Hi.. Its working in Windows system, how can we solve the same issue in Mac systems? My issue is slightly different. The install window is invisible actually transparent , except for a border around it. I can see the window rendered properly in the Thumbnail on the Taskbar.

I had this, but my problem was although the application was open somewhere on my screen, I had tried all the options in here. Restore was greyed out so I knew the app was maximized but just invisible to me. It sounds as if the Extended Desktop is active and that the application is opening on the other monitor that isn't actually connected.

You can plug in an external Monitor and drag this application back tot he NB's Monitor if it is an Extended Desktop Issue or just adjust the NB's Monitor to show the full screen depending on why this is happening. This happens regularly with MS Word. I have also had it happen with other applications. The program opens the window of the applciation at co-ordinates that are not part of the current desktop.

I will presume this is not being caused by an error directly in the application. Try the following procedure. Open the application.

Open the window menu by pressing ALT - Spacebar. If this is functioning correctly you should see the four way diretin cursor.

Use the cursor keys to attempt to move the application window back to a visible part of the desktop. I have also seen child windows such as a document in word open the same way, even though the main application is centerd correctly on the screen.

I have been working with windows since 3. Your directions got my application back into visable space. You have my gratitude. Hi Petrovsky, Have you tried disabling the 3 additional screens and then testing the application? In the Display properties window, adjust the resolution of the single display to a step down from where it is right now and apply the changes. Accept the new resolution and now see if your application is in the center of the screen.

Now go ahead and set the resolution back to what it was and and apply the changes. Ensure that the application is still visible and maximized correctly.

If so, go ahead and enable the other 3 displays and see if everything works correctly. These are just steps that have solved the problem for my own systems in the past. Hope this helps! How satisfied are you with this reply? Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site. This site in other languages x.
